ABOUT JEWISH

Experience for Mothers In Miami

Jewish Experience for Mothers in Miami was founded in 2016. Since then, Jem Miami has been a unifying force for Latin Jewish women with the aim of community-building and learning growth. We work to enrich the quality of Jewish life in North Miami Area by investing in programs that build Jewish knowledge, identity and peoplehood.
Jem Miami invests in these women so that they can contribute to their communities and be the leaders of the future. JEM Miami is also a partner of various synagogues, but it maintains itself as an independent movement creating its own community. Jem Miami has recently built a chapter, where it has committees to strengthen its community, thus becoming one of the biggest movements of Latin American Jewish Women in South Florida.
Jem Miami believes that women are the strong pillars of their families and by investing in them we can inspire an entire family. Inspiring an entire family can bring positive change to communities. One woman at a time.

Our History

Our History

Jewish experience of Miami in Partnership with JWRP has been taking annual trips to Israel since 2016 and has inspired over 60 women. It has been growing since then.
Initially, Jem Miami selected a group of Latin jewish women for an 8-day free trip to Israel, just paying for their own airfare. After that, we designed a 12-month follow-up program outlined by JWRP.
The follow-up program includes personal growth, Israel history and engagement, lectures and Torah Classes. Additionally, Jem has built volunteer opportunities to strengthen the building of better communities in the North Miami Area. Some Volunteer work includes: Bikur cholim, JCS food bank, among others. Moreover, Jem Miami has done major social events with the women and their families, such as Challah bakes, Shabbatons and Holidays parties (Chanukah, Purim, etc).
